MYRA HAHN YODER

Myra May Miller was born to Christian K. and Abi (Yoder) Miller at Smithville, Ohio on May 30, 1881. She died at Denbigh, Va. on June 26, 1972 at age 91.

In 1899 she with the rest of the C. K. Miller family, six in all, left Cass County, Missouri in a covered wagon drawn by two mules. They were bound for Warwick County, Virginia, about 1,200 miles distant. They did not travel on Sundays, and after nine weeks and two days traveling, they reached their destination, Denbigh, Va.

In 1903 she was married to Emanuel D. Hahn. He died in 1948. The surviving children are: Raymond Hahn of Sterling, Ohio, Mahlon Hahn of Poquoson, Va., Melvin Hahn, Bessie Schaefer and Esther Burkholder, all of Newport News, Va.

Also surviving are a twin sister, Mary Shank of Myerstown, Pa., an older sister, Anna Miller of Harrisonburg, Va., and a brother, Ernest Miller of Denbigh, Va.

In 1951 she married J. Harvey Yoder, who survives. Also surviving are ten stepchildren, 15 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Warwick River Mennonite Church on June 28, with Bishop Truman Brunk and Pastor Kenneth Good in charge.
