LEVI W. YODER

Rev. Levi W. Yoder, 70, until recently the proprietor of the Southwest, Ind. store passed away Wednesday morning, June 11, at his home after being bedfast about two months. The son of Stephen and Mary (Hochstetler) Yoder, he was born near Orrville, Wayne county, Ohio, on Oct. 28, 1876.

Rev. Yoder was a teacher in LaGrange county, and later entered the ministry at Nappanee, in 1911. In 1930 he became affiliated with the Mennonite Brethren in Christ church and served several pastorates in the Indiana conference.

He was married to Clara Alice Troyer on August 4, 1901. She and an infant daughter, Ruth Esther, preceded him in death Dec. 20, 1914. On Dec. 28, 1916, he was married to Edith Buzzard, who survives with the following children: Robert B. Yoder of Goshen, and Mrs. M. J. (Lois) Rensberger of Millersburg, by the second marriage, and three daughters by the former marriage, Mrs. Walter (Mary) Myers of Wakarusa, Mrs. Quinten (Mae) Everest of South Bend, and Mrs. Norman (Myrtle) Moser of Clyde, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers, Dan of Orrville, Ohio, Amos and Isaac of Nappanee, and Moses Yoder of Wakarusa, and one sister, Mrs. Lynn Foley of Nappanee.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 13, at 1:30 at the home and two o’clock at the Wakarusa M.B.C. church, Rev. Warren Manges, of Elkhart, officiating. Burial was made at the South Union cemetery near Nappanee, Ind.
