LEVI FRANKLIN YODER

Levi Franklin, son of Levi N. and Susan (Gerber) Yoder, was born Nov. 16, 1875, near Holden, Mo., and passed away early Thursday morning, May 23, 1957, at his home near Garden City,Mo. at the age of 81 years, six months, and seven days. Death came as a result of a cerebral hemorrrhage from which he suffered only a few hours.

In youth he united with the Pleasant View Mennonite Church near Medford, Mo. and later transferred his membership to the Sycamore Grove church near Garden City where he faithfully served his Lord for 46 years.

On Dec. 17, 1902, he was united in marriage to Anna Raber, daughter of C. W. and Anna (Klopfenstein) Raber. They established their home on a farm near Holden, Mo. but in 1911 moved to Cass County, locating near Garden City. They have lived at the present location for 33 years. In December 1952 they were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. Had he lived until December they would have been married 55 years.

Surviving are his devoted wife; four children, C. Harold, Marie, and Elizabeth(Mrs. Walter L. Yoder), all of Garden City, and Eula (Mrs. Alpha J. Yoder) of Goshen, Ind.; four grandsons and two granddaughters; two brothers and two sisters, Will of Blairstown, Mo., Clarence, Ellen (Mrs. J. S. Raber) and Mabel (Mrs. Cleve Joy), all of Holden, Mo. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters: Samuel, Rolla, Adeline (Mrs. Warren Richards) and Christine, who died in infancy.

Our father lived a full and happy life and will be greatly missed by his neighbors, his friends, and his family. to his grandchildren he was a real friend and companion.

The funeral was held at the Sycamore Grove Church on Saturday afternoon, May 25, and burial was made in the Clearfork Cemetery. James Yoder and S. S. Hershbrger were in charge of the services. The music was by Dale Hershberger, Rolla Hartzler, Wilbur Schrock and Albert Schrock.
