JOE F. YODER

Joe F. Yoder, son of Christian S. and Anna Swartzendruber Yoder, was born near Kalona, Iowa on Nov. 3, 1889, and passed away at his home in Goshen, Ind. on July 5, 1963 following a malignant illness of six months. He reached the age of 73 years eight months, and two days.

In his youth he accepted Christ as his Saviour and united with the Mennonite Church. He was a member of the Wellman Iowa Mennonite Congregation.

On Nov. 26, 1912, he was married to Belva Stutzman, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Florence and Erma, both of Goshen; four brothers, Rev. Sanford C. Yoder of Goshen, Ezra of Chappell, Neb., Elmer of College Place, Wash. and Harry of Los Angeles, Calif.; and four sisters, Mrs. Emma Stutzman, Mrs. Cora Stutzman, and Mrs. Frank (Bess) Stutzman, all of Chappell, Neb., and Mrs. Sade Albin of Filer, Idaho.

His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death. Also two daughters, Blance and Xera, and two sons, Robert and Ray, were killed in a tornado on August 10, 1924, when the family lived in Thurman, Colo.

He grew to manhood in Wright County, Iowa and moved with his parents to Chappell, Neb. Following his marriage he lived in Colorado until 1935 when the family moved to Wellman, Iowa, where he was engaged in farming until retirement in 1956. At that time he moved to Goshen, Ind.

He will be greatly missed in the home, church, and in the community by those who knew him. He bore his illness of several months very patiently often expressing his desire to go home to be with his Lord.
