Pioneer Teacher And Sunday School Leader Called Away in Death

DAVID S. YODER, BELLEFONTAINE, OHIO, DIED MAY AT AGE OF 93

Bellefontaine, Ohio. — David S. Yoder, 93, pioneer public school teacher and early leader in the Sunday school movement in the Mennonite church, died at his home here on May 4.

In his youth he attended Academia Seminary and Kishaquillas Seminary in Pennsylvania, after which he began his career as public school teacher in Pennsylvania and Ohio. In the Mennonite conference he was a member of the Board of Missions and Charities and for 25 years served on the Board of Education. He settled in Ohio in the late 70's.

Funeral services held at the South Union church were conducted by Rev. S. E. Allgyer, with whom the deceasde [sic] had been associated in church work for many years. Rev. Frank Byler assisted in the services.
