LITTLE GIRL DARTS INTO PATH OF CAR, INSTANTLY KILLED
Kalona, Iowa. — Three-year-old Carol Yvonne Yoder, only child of Daniel E. and Amelia (Swantz) Yoder, was instantly killed at about 6:30 p. m. on July 31 on the highway in front of her home.
Unbeknown to her grandfather, Emmett Swantz, the child had followed him as he crossed the highway to talk to a friend sitting in a parked car. She then darted back toward the house directly into the path of an oncoming car.
