Retired Bishop Called By Death in Oregon

Lebanon, Ore. — Henry A. Wolfer, who served as a bishop of the Mennonite (Old) Church in the Hubbard, Woodburn and Sheridan areas for many years, died at his home on Route 1, Brownsville, Dec. 27 after a long illness. He had moved to Brownsville eight years ago.

Funeral services were held Dec.30 at the Brownsville Presbyterian Church, with Ernest Garber and Lloyd Kropf officiating.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; three sons, Russell of Portland, Melvin and Sanford of Albany; five daughters, Mrs. Bernice Kauffman of Grants Pass, Mrs. Margaret Anderson of Bellflower, Calif., Mrs. Elvera Allison of Gresham, Ore., Mrs. Delores Baker of Brownsville, and Mrs. Rhoda Gardner of Palo Alto, Calif.; three brothers, two sisters, 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.'
