MRS. ANNA WIENSZ
Our loving mother, Anna Brauer Wiensz, daughter of Carl and Anna Loewen Brauer, was born on Feb. 14, 1879, in South Russia. Here she spent her childhood days, attended school and church and grew up to womanhood.
In 1900 she was united in holy matrimony to our father, Henry Gerhardt Wiensz. This union was blessed with 10 children, seven sons and three daughters. Four of these sons and one daughter preceded mother in death. Father passed away 10 months ago.
In October 1912 our parents came to America and settled in Canada. In 1934 they moved to Reedley, Calif.
Our mother enjoyed comparatively good health. She had a very strong personality and her faith in god never wavered. We have always known her as a praying mother. While in Reedley, she had new experiences with the Lord and felt led to follow her Master in the waters of baptism. She was baptized April 2, 1950, and united with the Mennonite Brethren Church for fellowship. She was very happy as she worshipped with the saints of God and always rejoiced in the assurance of her salvation.
About a month ago she became seriously ill and was taken to the Reedley hospital. Here she was given the best of care by the doctors and nurses. However, it seemed that her time was up, and the Lord called her home to glory. She departed this life Saturday, Jan. 12, 1957, about 12:00 at the age of 77 years, 10 months, and 28 days. We as a family rejoice that she could be relieved and go home to glory.
Those who remain to mourn of her departure are her five children: Anna, Mrs. Frank Enns, of Reedley, Henry Wiensz of Reedley, MarIe, Mrs. Henry Waldo of Oregon City, Oregon, Peter Wiensz of St. Helena, Oregon, and George Wiensz of Reedley, one brother, Henry Brauer of Germany; two sons-in-law and one daughter -in-law; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and many friends and relatives who stand by in this hour of sorrow. — The Children.
