MRS. MINNIE E. WIENS

The eldest daughter of William Henry and Helen Neufeld, (Mrs.) Minnie E. Wiensz was born August 9, 1918 in Herbert, Saskatchewan. She grew up in the Main Centre, Saskatchewan area. At the age of 16 she accepted Christ as her Saviour and joined the Mennonite Brethren Church after being baptized in 1936.

She attended the Herbert Bible School and took teacher's training in Moose Jaw, followed by several years of teaching at Rosefarm. Her marriage to John Wiensz at Main Centre on July 3, 1946 was blessed with a son, Ted, and Stewart, whom they accepted as a son. After their marriage, they moved to British Columbia to teach school in the North Pacific Coast region. Returning to Bigford, Saskatchewan they taught and operated a business until taking up farming in 1967.

From the time that she accepted Christ, she was active in the church, teaching Sunday school and leading an exemplary life of kindness, unselfishness and prayer.

After a period of illness in which her faith in Christ continued to be strengthened, she went to meet her Saviour on January 30. A memorial service was held in the Swift Current (Sask.) Mennonite Brethren Church, led by pastor Peter Nikkel, on February 2.

She leaves to mourn her beloved husband, John; her son Ted and his wife Joyce; one grand-daughter, Charis; her son, Stewart; her mother, Helen Neufeld; one sister; three brothers; and many relatives and friends.
