Businessman Killed In Kansas Crash

Hutchinson, Kan. — Funeral services for Albert C. Wiens, 52, who died in a car-truck crash Sept. 22, were conducted Saturday afternoon at the First Mennonite Church here. Rev. Wendell Rempel, the pastor, officiated.

The fatal accident took place about 18 miles south of here on K-17 when a grain truck driven by Ed Graber, 60, of rural Pretty Prairie pulled onto the highway into the path of the southbound car driven by Mr. Wiens.

The car stuck the left front side of the loaded truck, pouring grain over the car and onto the highway. The truck was pushed into a ditch and burst into flames, but Mr. Graber escaped with only a bump on the forehead.

A native of Inman, Mr. Wiens was vice-president and salesman for Ragland Auto Parts of Hutchinson, where he had been employed for 20 years.

Survivors include the widow, Hilda, two sons and three daughters, of whom two daughters are still at home.
