MRS. SUSIE WIELER

Susie Lepp, daughter of Paul and Elizabeth Dick Lepp, was born in South Russia on Aug. 23, 1876. At the age of six months she came with her parents to this country, and they settled on a farm in the Windom, Minn. area. Here mother grew to womanhood, and here she attended school as much as she could.

On June 2, 1895, she was baptized upon her confession of faith into the membership of the Bergthaler Mennonite Church. In 1927 she transferred her membership to the Bethel Mennonite Church, where she remained a faithful member the rest of her life.

On Dec. 30, 1897 she united in marriage with Henry Wieler. To this union eight children were born. Father and Mother Wieler lived on the farm in the Windom area until retirement in 1936, when they moved to Mountain Lake. Their home was one where the joy of the Lord was known and experienced. Father Wieler passed away in August 1951. Mother stayed in her home until her health began to fail, and in 1957 she entered the Eventide Home, Mountain Lake.

She was appreciative of the loving care given in the Home. Several times it became necessary for her to enter the hospital, the last time being Jan. 13. Here she passed away Friday morning, Jan. 15, reaching the age of 88 years, four months and 22 days.

She was a good mother, with a loving concern for her children and children’s children and especially for their spiritual welfare. Her favorite verse of Scripture was John 5:24.

She is survived by four daughters and two sons: Elizabeth, Mrs. Henry Kliewer of Henderson, Neb., Mrs. Anna Fast of Mountain Lake, Susie, Mrs. Ornie Schley of Faribault, Minn., Tena, Mrs. Ben Rahn of Pretty Prairie, Kan., George of Windom, Minn. and Paul of Mountain Lake. There are also 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, one brother, John P. Lepp of Jeffers, Minn., and one sister, Mrs. Katharina Quiring of Mountain Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, four brothers, and one sister.

The memorial services were held Jan. 18 at the Bethel Mennonite Church with Rev. Alert Gaeddert officiating. — The Family.
