Randolph Wiebe

Our dearly loved son and brother Randoph Wiebe was born July 10, 1928, at the Bethesda Hospital at Goessel. At the age of six years he entered Center school where he attended half a term. The second half of the term he attended the Bloomfield school. His second school year he spent at the Emmental school.

About a year and a half ago, we began to notice that he was ailing. This summer his ailment became more serious and we took him to a doctor who diagnosed his condition as a tumor on the spleen. When Randolph failed to rally under medical treatment it was decided to operate.

He was admitted to the Bethesda Hospital on Sept. 24 and was operated in the morning of Sept. 30. He went to his heavenly home at one o'clock p.m. on the same day.

He reached the age of 8 years, 2 months and 20 days.

All through his illness Randolph was always cheerful and happy. He complained only that he was always tired. The prospect of an operation did not instill any fear in him whatever. When on the morning of his removal to the hospital he was told that people sometimes die as the result of an operation, he replied smilingly, "Then I'll be with Grandpa." And that's where he is now, to see his Jesus, whom he loved so well, face to face, with his Grandpa.

He leaves to mourn his early departure, his parents: Mr. and Mrs. Dick Wiebe, 2 sisters, Irene and Berneeda; 4 brothers, Elmer, Eldo, Harry and Laverne; 2 grandmothers, 1 great-grandmother; a host of uncles and aunts, relatives and friends. All his loved ones were at his bedside at his death, except Eldo and Harry who are in Idaho.

The funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 5, 1936, at 2 P.M. in the Alexanderwohl church. Services were held in German by Rev. C. C. Wedel, who had for his text Jeremia 31, 9; and Rev. P. P. Buller in English, Luke 2, 48. The teacher, Mike Miller of the Emmental school, and also Miss Wiebe of the Gordon school, each sang a song with their school children. Six of Randolph's cousins were the coffin bearers.
