MARGARET MANTLER WIEBE

Margaret Mantler Wiebe of Langham, Sask. passed away Feb. 17. She was born Oct. 3, 1910 in Dalmeny, Sask. She attended Willow Lake School for grades 1-8. At 16, she found assurance of salvation during evangelistic meetings in church. At 19, she was baptized and joined Dalmeny MB Church. She worked at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon until her parents needed help at home. She spent several winters at Tabor Bible School in Dalmeny. She married Henry Wiebe Oct. 29, 1938. Several years later, they bought land in Dalmeny. In the 1950s they moved to a house on Railway Ave. In October 1998 they moved to Langham Senior Citizens Home. She was a devoted wife. Her children were her life. She played and sang with them and cooked and cleaned for them. She prayed with and for them. As long as she was able, she wrote them letters. She taught Sunday school to young mothers and worked for a while in Dalmeny Seniors Home. Predeceased by son Alfred Henry, 4 sisters and 3 brothers, she is mourned by Henry; children Frances Enns, Verna Bashuski, Carol Basler, Lorraine Loewen, Charles, and Elrona Harmsworth; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 sister and 1 brother. The funeral was Feb. 24 in Dalmeny Community Church, with Don Enns and Gary Sawatzky ministering.
