KURT P. WIEBE

Kurt P. Wiebe was born June 15, 1883, in West Prussia, Germany, the son of Jacob and Marie (Epp) Wiebe. He came to America with his parents at the age of two years and settled with them on a farm west of Beatrice, Neb.

He attended both the public schools and the parochial school taught by Rev. J. K. Penner.

He was baptized on May 19, 1902, by Elder Gerhard Penner and was received into the membership of the First Mennonite Church of Beatrice, retaining this membership until the time of his death.

On April 24, 1913, he was married to Mary Janzen. Two children, one son, Richard, and one daughter, Hattie, were born to this home.

His life was spent as a farmer, living on a farm west of Beatrice until the spring of 1948 when he and his wife moved to Beatrice.

After a lingering illness he passed away on Dec. 14, 1958.

He leaves his wife, Mary; one son Richard and wife Alma of Boone, Iowa; one daughter Hattie and husband Arthur C. Schmidt of Beatrice; four grandchildren; one brother Frank; four sisters, Mrs. Helena Wiebe, Mrs. Anna Epp, Sister Elizabeth Wiebe, all of Beatrice, and Mrs. Gerturde Seibel of Lodi, Calif.; and many other relatives and friends.
