Mt. Lake, Minn., Aug. 1 — John Wiebe was born on Janury 1, 1843, in the village of Gnadenfeld, South Russia. In 1868 he was married to Justina Rempel. She was taken from him by death after seven years, and in 1877 he was married to Maria Heidebrecht. This union was blessed with seven children, 4 daughters and 3 sons, of whom four have preceded him in death.
He was taken ill in 1925 and since that time he has seldom been able to leave his bed. During the past several years he has been cared for in the J. J. Eytzen home, who have nursed him tenderly and taken care of all of his needs. He was especially feeble and weak since last winter, and his end came at 1:30 Saturday night, at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 27 days.
He leaves 4 daughters and 2 sons, all of whom were present at the funeral service, 48 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. — Mt. Lake observer.
