JAMES WIEBE

Jimmy Wiebe was born on July 20, 1951, bringing much happiness to the family. In his early years he grew and developed like most other boys, but in later childhood it was observed that he was somewhat slow and retarded. At eleven, his mind ceased to function properly, and he began to receive medical help.

Doctors at the Children's Psychiatric Research Centre in London, Ont., could not discover a cause for the aberration, but felt it might have been due to an accident he had had at the age of five. He was admitted for treatment to the Ontario Hospital at Hamilton.

In September of 1964 Jimmy was taken to Bethesda Home in Vineland where he spent the days until his death on May 17. These days were bearable for Jim and the family only because of the close friendship of Christ. Jim's spiritual life was keen and bespoke a rare vitality, and he lived by Scripture as best he knew how.

Jim was the youngest of a family of nine children. He leaves to mourn his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Wiebe of St. Catharines, Ont., seven brothers, a sister, and a large number of friends and relatives. The family has been deeply affected by Jimmy's departure, yet praise God who in his wisdom has called Jim to spend eternity with him.
