HENRY A. WIEBE

Henry A. Wiebe was born on March 14, 1882 in Lysanderhoah, Russia. At the age of 14 years he came to the United States with his parents. Their first stop was in Beatrice, Neb. where relatives had settled some years before. In 1897 the family came to the Paso Robles, Calif. area. His father, Aron Wiebe, was one of the ministers serving the group that had settled here.

On Nov. 1, 1906, he was united in marriage with Katherine [Catherine] Hamm and they were privileged to share life's joys and sorrows for 56 years and nine months. To this union five children were born: Irene (Mrs. Herman Fieguth), Theodore, who died at the age of 17, Rudolf, Edgar and Alice (Mrs. William H. Carroll). There are ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Although Bro. Wiebe was supposed to be retired for quite some time, he often sent out to the farm to help. He worked until last June, doing the many things that always need to be done on the farm. He passed away July 25, 1963 at the age of 81 years, four months and 11 days.

He was an inspiration to his pastor by his faithfulness in church attendance and in his desire to see the Lord's work prosper. He will be greatly missed by the family and also in the church. But Christians can always say, “Until we meet again.”
