● Funeral services for Gustav W. Wiebe, 72, a resident of Newton for more than 40 years, were held Monday afternoon at the Draper's Funeral Home here and the First Mennonite Church of Halstead, of which he was a member. Rev. Arnold Funk and Rev. J. E. Entz officiated. Mr. Wiebe died Saturday at the home of a son, Gustav F. Wiebe, in Newton. He was employed at the Santa Fe Rail Mill here before his retirement. Surviving are two other sons, Carl H. of Newton and John E. of Salina; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Lohr of Kansas City, Kan. and Mrs. Landris Fern of Lindsborg, and 23 grandchildren.
