CARL E. WIEBE

Carl E. Wiebe was born on Nov. 3, 1912, near Beatrice, Neb. He attended the district and parochial schools and then worked in and around Beatrice until 1941.

Through the influence of his Christian home and the church he accepted Christ as his Savior, was baptized in May 1931, and became a member of the Mennonite church.

On July 6, 1939, he was united in marriage to Ella Warkentin. They received further joy when their son Michael came into their home. Until June 1953 they made their home in Wichita, Kansas and then due to poor health came back to the Beatrice community.

Five years ago he contracted emphysema and was in and out of the hospital many times during the last few months with much suffering. He passed away very peacefully on July 9 at 9:30 p.m. He had been conscious of the fact that his days were numbered and he placed a deep trust in his Lord, especially leaning heavily upon Psalms 25.

Besides his wife Ella and son Michael John, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wiebe, three sisters, Mrs. Henry Linsenmeyer and Mrs. E. J. Wiebe of Beatrice, and Mrs. Abe K. Friesen of Hutchinson, Kansas, and one brother John K. Wiebe, also of Beatrice, and many relatives and friends.
