ANNA FUNK WIEBE

Anna F. Wiebe died peacefully Sept. 22, 1987, at her home in Aberdeen, Idaho, at the age of 102.

She was born Oct. 9, 1884, at Marion, Kan., Peter and Anna Friesen Funk. The family moved to Oklahoma when she was a young woman.

In 1910 she moved to Aberdeen, Idaho. In 1911 she married Henry C. Wiebe, who had preceded her to Idaho the previous year.

She was baptized at the age of 12 and thereafter spent much time in the service of the church. Until a year before her death, she still knit bandages for missions. She was an inspiration to many in her devotion to god, family and friends. She was witty and aware until her death.

She leaves behind four children, Eleanor Toevs of San Jose, Calif., Bernice Evans of Beaver Dam, Ariz., Orlando Roy Wiebe of Seattle, Wash., and Margie Johnson of Prospect Heights, Ill.; a sister, Elizabeth Funk Wenger; and a brother, Herman Funk.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1954 and by a daughter, Evelyn Fritts, in 1967.

Funeral services were held Sept. 26, 1987 at First Mennonite Church, Aberdeen, where she was a member.

Anna Funk Wiebe, 102, died at her home on Sept. 22, about two weeks before her 103rd birthday. She was our oldest member. In good health most of her life, she had lived alone and kept house until the last two years. She is survived by many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sept. 26, with Lance Eisele officiating.
