ABRAHAM W. WIEBE

Abraham W. Wiebe, son of Frank and Katharina Wohlgemuth Wiebe, was born in Melitopol, South Russia, on May 2, 1875.

In 1879 he migrated to the United States with his mother and brother, his father having preceded in death. They made their home near Inman, Kan. and here he spent most of his youth.

In 1901 he moved to the Medford, Okla. area. He was baptized and received into the Medford Mennonite Church on June 7, 1903 by Elder Peter Balzer. He remained a faithful member of the church until his death.

On April 7, 1910 he was united in marriage to Anna Buller. To this union six children were born. His wife and two sons, Martin and Ben F., preceded him in death.

He is survived by two daugtrs [sic], M. Linda and Adina of Medford, and two sons, Edward of Wichita, Kan. and Arnold of Longmont, Colo., and five grandchildren.

He resided on a farm northeast of Medford until retiring and moving to town in 1942.

He was stricken on March 9 and entered the hospital where he remained until his death on April 7, 1965, reaching the age of 89 years.
