C. WALTER WHITMER

C. Walter Whitmer, son of Leslie and Hazel (Hohn) Whitmer, was born in Winona, Ill. on May 16, 1926; died in an automobile accident at Glenwood springs, Colo. on Oct. 3, 1968, age 42 years, four months, 18 days.

He was married to Frances Birky on June 17, 1950 at Congerville, Ill.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Lyle; two daughters, Virginia and Karen; his parents; three brothers, Leslie A. Saybrook, Ill., Kenneth, Carlock, Ill., Donald, Broomfield, Colo.; and six sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Hofstatter, Lowpoint, Ill., Mrs. Lois Miller, Congerville, Ill., Mrs. Evelyn Bland, Jamesport, Mo., Mrs. Loretts [sic Loretta] Bowald, Eureka, Ill., Mrs. Mildred Mizell, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Una MacKendrick [sic Una Mae Kendrick], Uravan, Colo. One son, Gerald, preceded him in death.

He was owner and operator of a garage, Walt's Auto Repair.

He was a member of the Glenwood Springs Mennonite Church where funeral services were held on Oct. 7, 1968 with J. Leon Martin officiating; interment in the Rosebud cemetery at Glenwood Springs, Colo.
