DOROTHY IRENE WHITE

Dorothy Irene White, daughter of Frank and Bess Stutzman, was born Nov. 16, 1913, at Chappell, Neb. and passed away on Sunday morning, April 12, 1959, at the home of her parents.

In 1927 she accepted Christ as her Saviour and was received into the Mennonite Church. She attended the Chappell schools, graduating in 1930. Following this she taught school for three years.

On Nov. 12, 1935, she was married to Walter White of Iowa City, Iowa. To this union one son, Larry, was born on August 5, 1937. They made their home in Iowa City for six years and then moved to Chappell where they have since resided.

Dorothy always took an active interest in church work. She especially enjoyed working with children and young people.

For the past seven and one-half years she had been employed as bookkeeper at the Oswald Produce Co., where she made many friends.

She had been in failing health for the past six months during which time she underwent surgery in Denver. For the last four months she was cared for at the home of her parents.

Surviving are her husband, Walter; one son, Larry; the parents, one sister Mary (Mrs. Warren Oswald), two brothers, Donald and Russell, all of Chaappell.

She was always a kindhearted wife and mother. The courage and patience she displayed in her suffering was an inspiration to many close to her. We will miss here, but we look forward to meeting her in our Eternal Home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, April 4, at the Methodist Church in Chappell with Rev. Marcus Bishop of the First Mennonite Church in Denver officiating. Interment was made in the Mennonite cemetery.
