ORVA H. WENGER

Orva Homer Wenger, son of Louis and Sarah (Lehman) Wenger, was born Feb. 15, 1889, at Versailles, Mo., died May 21, 1859 [sic 1959] at the La Junta Mennonite Hospital, age 70 years, three months and six days.

On Jan. 28, 1912, he was married to Mary Swartzendruber, who survives. They farmed 13 years at Versailles, Mo., 10 years at Manson, Iowa, and 15 years at Detroit Lakes, Minn., after which they moved to La Junta, Colo. for reasons of health when it became known he had Hodgkins disease.

He was an employee at La Junta Mennonite Hospital for14 years, and although ill health had placed limitations upon him for a number of years he had been at the age of 73 years, three continuously employed and was on duty the day previous to his death. He is greatly missed by fellow employees as well as in the home.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Joyce) Johnson, and eight grandchildren of Perryton, Texas.

He was a faithful member of the Mennonite church from his youth. Funeral services held on May 25 at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Paul H. Marten officiating, assisted by Bro. Alva Swartzendruber of Hydro, Okla.
