Killed When Standing By Parked Auto

ACCIDENT AT EPHRATA, PA. CLAIMS LIFE OF LUKE M. WENGER, 53.

Ephrata, Pa. — Funeral services for Luke M. Wenger, 53, who was the victim of a traffic accident here, were held Dec. 2 at the Metzler Mennonite Church.

Mr. Wenger was standing near his parked car with the door open, when he was struck by a passing auto and dragged a considerable distance. His body was badly mangled.

A son of the late Pre. B. A. Wenger and Lizzie Wenger, he was a plumber and at the time of his death was supervising the plumbing installation in the new annex to the Ephrata Community Hospital.

Survivors include his wife and three grown children.

Funeral Postponed

Ephrata, Pa. — Funeral services for Luke M. Wenger, 53, who was killed when struck by a car in Ephrata on Dec. 8, could not be held as scheduled Sunday, Dec. 11, at the Metzler Mennonite Church due to a snowstorm. The services were postponed to Dec. 14.

Mr. Wenger, a plumber, is survived by his wife, the former Eva B. Huber; three children, Elizabeth at home, Robert Wenger, professor at Eastern Mennonite College now doing graduate work at State College, Pa., and Luke, Jr., a student at E. M. C.; four brothers, Attorney Samuel Wenger, Rev. Paul Wenger, Lester Wenger and Prof. John Wenger; and one sister, Amanda Wenger.
