MRS. JESSE WENGER

Mrs. Ella Barbara Wenger, 66, did Feb.27 at a hospital in Jefferson City, Mo. where she was admitted earlier that day. She had been in ill health for some time.

Mrs. Wenger was born in Morgan County, Missouri on Jan. 15, 1898, the daughter of Albert W. and Bertha B. (Garber) Lehman.

She became a member of Bethel Mennonite Church, Fortuna, Mo., in 1913. On Nov. 25, 1917 she was married to Jess W. Wenger and at that time transferred her church membership to the Mt. Zion Mennonite Church, Versailles, Mo. She was a lifelong resident of Morgan county and was active in church and community work.

Surviving is her husband, of the home; four sons, Albert, Norman, Paul and Roy Wenger, all of Versailles; two daughters, Viola, Mrs. Samuel Ramer of Versailles and Bertha, Mrs. Paul Swarr of Ramat Gan, Israel; 24 grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Bertha B. Lehman of Versailles; four sisters, Mrs. Elda Baumgartner of Versailles, Mrs. Freda Harris of Orrick, Mo., Miss Lavern Lehman of Lebanon, Ill., and Mrs. Velma Williams of North Kansas City. She was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter.

Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion Mennonite Church on Saturday, Feb. 29 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. J. D. Graber, Rev. Allen Zook, and Rev. Leroy Gingerich officiating. Hymns were sung by a mixed quartet. Interment was made in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
