Mrs. Clara Welty, 65, Salem area resident, died Oct. 26, 1951. She was born July 19, 1886, in Wisconsin, coming to Salem when two years old. She was married in June to Enoch J. Welty, who survives. The family residence for the past 10 years was at 4349 Market street, Salem.

Mrs. Welty was a member of the Pratum Mennonite church. Survivors beside her husband include one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Regier of Salem, two sons, Homer and Grover Welty, both of Salem; two sisters and five brothers, Alma Wenger of Silverton, Mrs. Elizabeth Mueller of Salem, Robert, William, Edward and Eldon Wenger, all of Silverton, and Oscar Wenger of Pratum; 11 grandchildren and three nephews.

Mrs. Welty had a stroke nine months ago and had been in bed since then. Services were held Monday afternoon, Oct. 29, at the Emmanuel Mennonite church. Pratum, Rev. J. M. Franz officiating, and concluding services at the Pratum cemetery.
