MARTHA WEDEL

Martha Wedel, daughter of Benjamin and Lena Ratzlaff, was born June 25, 1886, in Marion county, Kansas.

In 1908 she came to the state of Oklahoma, where she later was united in marriage to Dave Wedel, on April 15, 1909.

To this union seven children were born, of whom two daughters preceded her in death, and one son, Wilson who died in the service of his country.

In 1914 she was baptized and joined the Zoar Mennonite church of Goltry, Okla.

She and her husband made their home in Goltry. However, they also lived in Hillsdale, Okla., Gentry, Arkansas, and Enid, Okla. From Enid, in April, 1946, they moved back to Goltry where on the 12th of May Mrs. Wedel became ill and was taken to the hospital at Enid. She never recovered and passed away June 3, 1946, at the age of 59 years, 11 months and eight days.

She leaves to mourn her husband, at Goltry; one daughter, Martha Lena Pautsky at Gravette, Arkansas; three sons, Clyde at Wichita Falls, Texas; Lawrence in the U. S. Navy; Gerald at home; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Anderson, Carmen, Oklahoma, Mrs. Matilda Wedel, Goltry, Okla., and Sister Mary Agneta, Tulsa, Okla.

Mother has fallen asleep.
Mother was tired and weary.
Weary with toil and with pain.
Put away her glasses and rocker,
She will not need them again.
Into Heaven's mansion she entered,
Never to sigh or to weep.
After long years with life's struggles,
Mother has fallen asleep.
