— Word was received by friends here a few days ago that J. T. Wedel of Goltry, Okla., died at his home there on Sunday morning. Mr. Wedel was 63 years old and had not been in good health for a number of months. Funeral services were announced for this afternoon, to be held at the Zoar church near Goltry. Mrs. Dan Koehn and Mrs. Carl Koehn, both of Galva, are sisters of Mr. Wedel. His death is also a definite loss to the Review, since he had served as correspondent for the paper for nearly 12 years. We express our sincere sympathy to his bereaved wife and family.

Jacob T. Wedel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tob. P. Wedel, was born Dec. 31, 1876, in McPherson county, Kansas.
August 30, 1904, he was united in marriage with Miss Eva Unruh, to which union were born four sons and four daughters, of which one son, Arthur Lee, preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 1921.
He accepted Christ as his Saviour and was baptized May 29, 1898, by the Rev. Balzer in the Alexanderwohl church of Goessel, Kansas, and was received into the Canton Mennonite church, Moundridge, Kansas.
After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Wedel made their home in Meno, but later moved to Taloga; then to Seibert, Colorado, and to McPherson county, Kans. On October 6, 1919, they moved to near Goltry, Okla., where he has resided until his death.
He assumed active Christian service in 1907, when he was ordained as deacon. He remained in this office until 1924, after which he continued in other Christian service as Sunday School superintendent, church board member, teacher, etc.
On Dec. 31, 1939, he became ill with a carbuncle on his neck which was followed by influenza and pneumonia. This later culminated into dropsy, from which he did not recover. He passed away on June 16, 1940, at the age of 63 years.
He leaves to mourn, his wife and children: Roy of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Erma Weise of Fairview; Marvin of Goltry; Herman of Oklahoma City; Ruby, Verbena, and Rosie still at home; his mother, four brothers, Barney, Andrew, Frank and Nelson; four sisters, Eva, Lizzie, Lean and Susie; 3 uncles, five grandchildren, and a host of friends.
