HENRY WILLIAM WEDEL

Henry W. Wedel at Coaldale, Alta. passed ·away on March 20 at the age of 76 years. He was born October 7, 1895 in Alexanderpol, in southern Russia, and as a child moved with his parents to Terek, in the Caucasus. He was married to Anna Pauls in 1923 and together they emigrated to Canada in 1925. They came first to Laird, Sask., and later they moved to Sedalia, Alta., where he took up farming for some years. From there the family moved to Vauxhall and finally, in 1961 to retirement in Coaldale. He had accepted Christ as his Saviour in 1925 and was thereupon baptized and accepted into the Mennonite Church.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Anna; three sons, Henry of Barnwell, Alta., William of Coaldale and Walter of Calgary; three daughters, (Mrs.) Anna Unruh, Vauxhall, (Mrs.) Tina Taylor, Viking, and (Mrs.) Martha Barg, Grassy Lake; and numerous friends and relatives. One infant daughter predeceased him.

The funeral was conducted from the Coaldale Mennonite Brethren Church of Saskatoon on March 24 with Rev. D. J. Pankratz and Rev. Henry Unruh ministering.
