ALMA ESTHER WEAVER

Alma Esther Weaver, daughter of Perry and Myrtle Shenk, was born near Oronogo in Jasper County, Mo., on Oct 10, 1900. She died Aug. 2., 1983 at Lutheran Manor, Merriam, Kan., after several years of failing health.

She was married on June 20, 1920 to Elmer R. Berkey. He died in a crash of his plane in Virginia in 1955. She was married a second time on Aug. 10, 19970 to Levi A. Weaver in Sheridan, Ore. They lived in Kansas City, Kan.

She was a member of the Mennonite church at Sheridan, Ore. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and she was loyal to her Savior and her church.

Funeral services were held Aug. 8 at Simmons Funeral Home, Kansas City, with Leroy Gingerich in charge, and at Simpson Funeral Home, Webb City, Mo. Burial was in the Weaver Cemetery near Webb City.

She is survived by her husband; two sons and two daughters, Clayton Samuel Berkey of Harrisonburg, Va., and Lloyd Norton Berkey of Sheridan, Ore., Margaret Etta Buerge of Butler Mo., and Catherine Elizabeth Swanson of Umatilla, Ore.; 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
