. . .

— The report has been received here that I. G. Warkentine of Elk, Washington, died last Sunday night. No further information was given. In the telegram which was received the family requested that Rev. H. P. Krehbiel come for the funeral service, so a wire was sent to Rev. P. R. Aeschliman, Colfax, requesting him to go to Elk for the funeral. Mr. Warkentine had gone from Washington to California, then to Ohio and later returned to Washington. He was now living on his own farm. Arrangements had, however, been made for him to move on the Rev. H. P. Krehbiel farm, Elk, on May 1. The family will likely move there anyway as Mrs. Warkentine's brother, H. D. Schmidt who came back from California, was already staying with the family and will help in operating the farm. The cause of Mr. Warkentine's death has not been reported thus far. The family is composed of Mrs. Warkentine and six boys, the oldest 16 years, and the youngest two and one-half.
