Father of Three Fatally Burned When Boom Hits Power Line

Belleville, Pa. — Burns caused by high voltage electricity in a Nov. 11 accident claimed the life of Fred L. Walters, 28, of rural Belleville. He died Nov. 13 at the Harrisburg Hospital, and funeral services were held Nov. 17 at the Allensville Mennonite Church.

An employee of the Allensville Planing Mill, Mr. Walters was delivering building trusses to a Center County farm when a hydraulic boom he was operating touched overhead wires carrying 12,000 volts.

Survivors include his widow, the former Verda Hartzler, and three children of the home; his mother, Mrs. Clarence O. Walters of Belleville; two sisters and three brothers.
