MRS. ELIZABETH WALL

Mrs. Elizabeth Wall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Friesen, was born August 13, 1883, near Jansen, Neb., and passed from this life Dec. 13, 1956, at 10:45 a.m. in Reedley, Calif., at the age of 73 years and four months. She spent her childhood years and received her elementary schooling at Jansen.

In 1901 she entered in to holy wedlock with our father, h. h. Wall, and they made their home at Jansen. This union was blessed with six children, four sons and two daughters. One son and one daughter died in infancy.

In September 1954, father passed away. Although she often felt lonely and missed father so much, yet she found repeated comfort and renewed joy in the fact that she would meet him again and be forever with her Saviour whom she loved, where there would be no more parting.

Shortly after their marriage, our parents were both convicted of their lost condition and their need of a Saviour and were saved, and in 1901 were baptized by our grandfather, Rev. Isak Wall, and joined the Mennonite Brethren Church.

In 1920, our mother with the rest of the family moved to Reedley, Calif., and joined the M.B. Church of which she remained a faithful member until her death. She took much interest in the church and was faithful in attending whenever she could. For years in Nebraska she was the piano accompanist for her husband who was director of the church choir. She found great joy in attending and working with the ladies aid society of the church.

The first years in the Reedley community were spent on a ranch. Then for seven years, our mother with father's assistance took care of her invalid parents. This task involved much labor but brought with it many joys and blessings. After this our parents retired.

For nearly a year, mother was ill and in June of this year she submitted to surgery at which it was discovered that her illness was cancer. She spent seven months in a rest home.

She was a devoted mother. She was much concerned about her family, not only for the physical needs but also for the spiritual welfare. She was ever ready to help the sick and to spend nights at their bedside when needed. Her more recent desire was to depart and to be with the Lord whom she loved and served. The memories of our mother shall even remain pleasant and sacred to us. Although we shall miss her, we are happy that she has been released from her suffering and that she is now enjoying that which she believed and hoped for.

She leaves to mourn her departure three sons, Nick Wall, of Fresno, Calif., Herman F. Wall of Reedley, John J. Wall, Fresno; one daughter, Agnes, Mrs. W. J. Fortier of Fresno; one son-in-law; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. One grandson is in service in Japan: — The Bereaved Family.
