Ruth (Friesen) Voth, 67, a registered nurse, died March 13 at her rural Goessel home from injuries suffered when the tornado that earlier struck the Hesston area destroyed her home. A private burial was March 16 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Cemetery. A memorial service was held March 18 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel. Dennis Schmidt and Milton J. Harder officiated. A native of Inola, Okla., she had been a resident of Goessel since 1958 and was a nurse at Bethesda Home, Goessel. Survivors include her husband, Harold W.; two sons, David of Derby and John of Hillsboro; one daughter, Martha Voth of Seattle; eight brothers, Arthur of Chouteau Okla., John of San Jose, Calif., Jake of Reedley, Paul of Hesston and Marvin of Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Esther Friesen of Everett, Wash.; and five grandchildren.
