NEWTON & VICINITY

Mrs. Rosa Voth, 74, a resident of the Halstead area, died May 4 at the Halstead Hospital. Funeral services were held May 7 at the First Mennonite Church in Halstead with Henry Goossen officiating. Burial was in the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church cemetery near Goessel. Born Sept 14, 1907, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Duerksen, she married Abraham Voth on Oct. 17, 1934. They moved to Halstead in 1950, after living on farms near Moundridge and Canton. He died Dec. 11, 1980. Survivors include four sons, Lloyd and Morris, both of Halstead, Orville of Newton and Glenn of Hyrum, Utah; one brother, Elmer Duerksen of rural Hillsboro; two sisters, Margaret Klassen of Dodge City and Rubena Trupp of Newton; and five grandchildren.
