Pioneer Marion, S. D. Resident Died

Marion, S. D. — Funeral services were conducted at the Bethesda Mennonite Church near here for Mrs. Maria Voth, 86, pioneer Mennonite immigrant and a resident of this vicinity for 82 years. She died Aug. 27 after a long period of ill health.

Mrs. Voth, the former Maria Bornn, was born in Landskrone, South Russia, and came to this area with the first Mennonite settlers in1874. She was married to Cornelius Voth in 1891, and they farmed in the East Vermillion settlement. He died in 1914.

Surviving are one daughter, Marie of Marion, nieces and nephews, and three brothers-in-law.
