Father of Two Drowns in Lake

Hillsboro, Kans. — The body of Quentin Unruh, 26, of three miles west of Canton, was recovered from about fifteen feet of water in the silting basin of the Marion County lake Sunday night, June 8. It is believed he accidentally drowned while fishing.

When he failed to return from the fishing trip, the family went to the lake to search for him in company with county officials and the caretaker of the lake. His truck was found near the basin, and the body was recovered a short time later by use of grappling hooks. His tackle box and bait were found on the dam.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, five and three years old, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Unruh.
