NETTIE SCHMIDT UNRUH

Nettie Schmidt Unruh was born Oct. 7, 1870, near Waldheim, Russia. She was a daughter of mr. and Mrs. David Schmidt and came with her parents to America in 1885.

She was united in marriage to Peter G. Unruh on Sept. 20, 1888. He preceded her in death April 20, 1925.

To this union were born 10 children, three of whom preceded her in death. Surviving are four daughters and three sons, 19 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister, and thee brothers. The sister is Mrs. Anna Schmidt of Larned, Kansas. The brothers are Dave and Henry Schmidt of Pawnee Rock and Dan Schmidt of Greensburg.

Early in life she was baptized upon confession of faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ, and became a member of the Mennonite church where she remained a faithful member until her death.

Mother's health had been failing for some time; especially the last two weeks she suffered much. She was patient to the end and never wavered from her faith in her Lord.

She enjoyed memorizing portions of Scripture and songs. These brought her much joy and comfort in her last days.

She departed this life Feb. 7, 1947, at the age of 76 years and four months. — The children.
