MRS. JOE UNRUH

Mrs. Luella Unruh, the daughter of John D. and Tiena (nee Pankratz) Wiens, was born on June 22, 1905, at Dinuba, Calif., and departed this life to be with Christ her Savior on April 6, 1956. She attained the age of 50 years, nine months and 14 days.

She grew up in her parental home on a ranch south of Reedley, Calif. and attended the Windsor Elementary School. Later her parents moved to Reedley where she also attended high school.

In her early youth she accepted Christ as her Savior and accepted Him in the baptismal water on April 19, 1919, and joined the fellowship of the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church.

On Jan. 4,1929, she joined hands with Joe Unruh in holy wedlock. We were permitted to share the joys and troubles of life for more than 27 years. We spent our married life in the Reedley community except for a shot time in Monterey and about three years in Los Angeles.

About six years ago she became ill. The doctors diagnosed her illness to be cancer, and she submitted to surgery. She was very sick at that time and was not expected to live. Other doctors were consulted and after some time she improved and lived a rather normal life for more than four years. More than three months ago she became ill again and her condition grew worse rapidly in spite of all the aid that was sought.

For some time she had not lived in close fellowship with her Lord but about two months ago she had the joy of rededicating her life to her Saviour and experienced much joy and comfort in Him. Her faith was unwavering to the end, rejoicing in her Saviour in spite of her severe bodily suffering.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, of Reedley, Calif.; her father, J. D. Wiens of Fresno; three brothers, Alvin Wiens, Reedley, Corry Wiens, Anaheim, California, and Ed Wiens, Modesto, Calif.; seven brothers-in-law; eight sisters-in-law, and many relatives and friends. — Her Husband.
