text of obituary:

MRS. LOUISE SCHMIDT [sic UNRUH]

Louise Unruh, nee Schmidt daughter of Fred and Matilda Schmidt, was born at Pawnee Rock, Kansas on Nov. 13, 1907. She departed from this life Thursday, July 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the Greensburg Memorial hospital after a long illness at the age of 43 years, seven months and 22 days.

At the age of two years she came with her parents to Greensburg, Kansas, making her home on the farm. She finished the grade school and attended school for three years at Tabor college.

At the age of 18 she was baptized upon confession of her faith and joined the Mennonite church and in 1942 during Rev. James Zimmerman’s pastorate joined the First Baptist church of Greensburg. She was faithful to her belief and was active in church work as long as her health permitted.

She was married to Arthur Unruh on June 1, 1934. To this home three children were born, Faye Eloise, Earl Dee, and Vera Lou, all of the home.

She was preceded in death by her mother, two sisters and one brother. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and three children: her father, Fred B., and step-mother, Laura Schmidt; three sisters, Minnie Johnson and family, Pearl Schmidt and family, and Grace Unruh and family; three brothers, Ed, Frank, and Harvey Schmidt and their families, all of Greensburg; and a host of relatives and friends.

Her life meant much to us and we mourn but we have the blessed assurance that she has gone to a better home and we hope for a happy reunion some day.
