HENRY UNRUH

Henry Unruh was born April 18, 1896 on a farm in the Buhler, Kan. community to Frank and Nettie (Schmidt) Unruh. His occupation was farming. He remained on the same farm through the years until his retirement in June, 1962, when his health failed. He was always a hard, willing worker, trying to do his work well.

On Nov. 30, 1924, he was united in marriage to Martha Nickel at the Herold Mennonite Church, Bessie, Okla.

Upon confession of his faith he was baptized and united with the Buhler Mennonite Church, where he remained a member until his passing.

He served as township trustee for quite a few years and was well liked by the people with whom he came in contact.

He entered the Halstead Hospital on Feb 11, 1963 to seek medical aid and underwent major surgery on Feb. 21. On Feb. 23 he passed away quite suddenly at the age of 66 years, ten months and five days. We remember him as a kind husband and loving father.

Those remaining to cherish the memory of his life are his wife, Martha, of the home; one daughter, Verna, and husband Bernard Wolford of Wichita, Kan.; a son Erwin and wife Cloris, also of Wichita; two grandchildren, Connie Wolford and Mark Unruh. A daughter, Leona, preceded him in death in August 1957. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Bafus of Newton, Kan. and a brother, Frank, of McPherson, Kan.

Funeral services were held Feb. 26, 1963, at the Buhler Mennonite Church with interment at the Buhler Cemetery. — The Family.
