MRS. EVA JANTZ UNRUH

Eva Jantz Unruh was born near Pawnee Rock, Kansas, March 24, 1881, and was called to her reward Feb. 24, 1950, at 3 p.m. in the Salem hospital, Hillsboro, Kans. She reached the age of 68 years and 11 months.

She was baptized upon her confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior on July 19, 1903, and accepted into the fellowship of the Friedenstal Mennonite church, Tampa, where she remained a faithful member until her death.

She entered holy matrimony with David H. Unruh Nov. 15, 1904, and for more than 45 years they trod life's pathway together in joy as well as in sorrow. Their home was blessed with seven children: Pearl, Mrs. Dan Janzen, Lehigh; Frand (sic Frank) and Edward, Tampa; Gertrude, Mrs. Menno Goertzen, Newton; Mildred, Mrs. Ted Everhart, Alma; Aaron, Gypsum; and Leonard, Tampa.

She enjoyed good health until four years ago when she suffered from dropsy and since that time has been more or less under the doctor's care. However the Lord permitted her to regain health to the extent that she could be about her daily duties. On Feb. 21, she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. She was taken to the Salem hospital where she passed away Friday, Feb. 24.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, four sons, three daughters, four daughters-in-law, three sons-in-law, 12 grandchildren, three sisters, four brothers, three brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law and a host of relatives and friends. Her father, mother, three brothers, three sisters, two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and one grandchild preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 28 at the Friedenstal church. Rev. Harvey Jantz and Rev. H. Berg were the officiating ministers.
