Killed While Crossing Highway 30 at Gap, Pa.

Gap, Pa. — Funeral services were held at the Maple Grove Mennonite Church on Nov. 23 for Mrs. Ada S. Umble, 77, who was instantly killed while crossing busy Highway 30 here. Officiating were Abner Stoltzfus, Aaron Stoltzfus, Reuben Stoltzfus, and Herman Glick.

The accident occurred just after Mrs. Umble left Lawrence's Restaurant, where she was employed. She apparently did not notice the oncoming car.

Mrs. Umble was born in Lancaster County, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Kauffman. She was a member of the Maple Grove Church and was active in the sewing circle, having served as president for some years.

Surviving are seven sons and two daughters, 54 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
