CARRA DIRKS TSCHETTER

Carra Dirks Tschetter, daughter of Andrew and Caroline (Unruh) Dirks began her life's pilgrimage Feb. 20, 1890, at Halstead, Kan., where she grew to young womanhood.

Upon her confession of faith in the Lord Jesus, Rev. J. H. Langenwalter baptized and received her as a member of the First Mennonite Church at Halstead on Aug. 22, 1909.

In the spring of 1915 she and her sister Agnes accompanied their brother Jake and his family to Hydro, Mont. There she met her husband, Rev. P. P. Tschetter. they were married May 19, 1916 by Rev. John H. Wall. The Lord blessed them with two sons and two daughters. They shared the joys and sorrows of life for 45 years, five months, and 29 days.

In all her trials and afflictions she lovingly and efficiently performed her duties as a pastor's wife and mother. She found joy and blessing in serving the Lord in the Sunday school and in the work of the mission society.

She had a great concern for the spiritual and physical welfare of her children and grandchildren. As the years passed by her Bible and the Lord Jesus became more and more precious to her.

On Nov. 18, 1961, at 3:50 p.m. she went home to be with her Lord. Her sojourn here on earth was 71 years, eight months, and 28 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure: her husband; four children: Paul of Winona Lake, Ind.; Richard of Cordell, Okla.; Caroline (Mrs. Dalton Jones) of Sioux Falls, S. D.; and Eva Ruth (Mrs. James Trammel) of St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters-in-law; two sons-in-law; 13 grandchildren; three brothers; Jake of Moundridge, Kan.; Ben of Union City, Mich.; Herman of Livingstone, Calif.; five sisters: Lena (Mrs. Emil Seiler) of Halstead, Kan.; Eva Dirks; Agnes (Mrs. L. G. Little) and Luanna (Mrs. Menno P. Unruh) of Wichita, Kan.; and Mrs. Dora Smith of Hesston, Kan.; and many other relatives and friends.

One grandson and two brothers preceded her in death. — The Family.
