Series of Accidents Take Heavy Toll

ONE DEAD, NINE HURT IN RECENT MISHAPS NEAR PLAIN CITY, O.

Plain City, Ohio. — An eight-week-old boy was killed and nine other persons were injured in three separate mishaps in this area over the Thanksgiving week end.

The Herman Troyer family from Berlin, O. was en route to the Jonas Miller home here for Thanksgiving when their car collided with a truck near Mt. Vernon, fatally injuring their infant son, Ricky Lewis. Mrs. Troyer was critically injurd [sic], and Mr. Troyer had less serious hurts.

On Nov. 28 a kerosene lamp exploded as the Raymond N. Yutzy family sat around the supper table, and the resulting fire caused serious burns for Mr. and Mrs. Yutzy and sons John and Freeman. The youngest son was in critical condition.

The John S. Gingerich family of Indiana was en route here for Thanksgiving at the Sam J. Gingerich home when their car was involved in a head-on crash near Kenton, O. the parents and one child were hospitalized but were able to return home on Nov. 28.
