MRS. AMELIA TROYER

Amelia (Millie) Zimmerman Troyer, daughter of John and Cathrine [sic Catherine] Zimmerman, was born at Inman, Kansas on April 24, 1880. After being in ill health for the past seven years, she went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 8, 1962, following a three-month illness in the Attica, Kan. Hospital, aged 82 years, five months, 14 days.

On June 30, 1901, she was married to M. A. Troyer in McPherson County, Kansas. To this union were born two sons and six daughters. An infant granddaughter preceded her in death in 1951, and a son John in 1957.

In 1902 she, with her family, moved to Harper County, settling a few miles east of Harper, Kansas. In 1904 they moved to the Crystal Springs community where they have lived since that time.

In early youth, Millie accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Mennonite Church in McPherson County. When the Crystal Springs Mennonite Church was organized near Crystal Springs, Kansas in 1904, she was one of the 27 charter members.

Being a devoted mother and homemaker, she took seriously her responsibility to teach and nurture her children in the Lord. Her happy disposition is one of many happy memories. Her winning way with children endeared her to them.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Manasseh; her children, Mr. and Mrs. (Nettie) Henry Yoder of Crystal Springs, Mr. and Mrs. Russ Troyer of Harper, Mr. and Mrs. (Irene) Lloyd Nichols of Littleton, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. (Amy) Willie Mast of Millersburg, Ohio, Beulah of the home, Mr. and Mrs. (Gladys) Glenn Baker of Bluff City, Mr. and Mrs. (Amelia) Walter Marner of Littleton, Colo., and Mrs. Hazel Troyer of Crystal Springs; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sarah Hershberger of Elkhart, Ind.

Memorial services were held in the Crystal Springs Mennonite Church, Rev. Alvin Kauffman officiated, assisted by Rev. Robert Ely. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
