MRS. JUSTINA TOEWS
Justina Toews was born June 3, 1888, in Alexanderpol, South Russia and went home to the Lord December 28, 1965 in the Steinbach (Man.) Bethesda Hospital.
She was saved, baptized and accepted into the Mennonite Brethren Church in 1902. Her first marriage, to Johann P. Toews of Molotschna, ended when he passed away during the time of the famine following the Revolution. In 1922 she was married to Johann J. Toews who survives her.
In 1927 the family emigrated from Russia settling down at Gnadenthal and later Steinbach, Manitoba. She and her husband had lived at Steinibach since 1939.
In addition to her husband she is survived by three sons, John at Steinbach, Victor in Winnipeg, Henry at Niverville; three daughters, Mary at home, Mrs. Jacob (Anna) Janzen at Chortitz, Man., and Mrs. Abe (Helen) Enns of Domain, Man. The funeral service was observed December 31, 1965 in the Steinbach Mennonite Brethren Church.
