ISAAC DAVID TOEWS

Mr. Isaac David Toews was born on October 24, 1890, in Southern Russia. At the age of 18 he was converted at a revival meeting, and was baptized into the MB Church.

In 1910 he married Louise Derksen, and had four sons and a daughter. After 13 years of married life, she and their daughter passed away. He later married Katharine Enns, and this union was blessed with eleven children, two of whom predeceased him.

In 1926 the family moved to Saskatchewan, where he farmed near Watrous for 20 years. In 1946 they moved to Yarrow, B.C.; and in 1957 he retired to the home on Arnold Road in Yarrow, B.C.

On May 25, after a brief illness, he passed away at the age of 77 years.

He leaves to mourn, his wife, Katharine; seven sons: Isaac of Winnipeg; David of Saskatoon; Jacob of Vancouver; Abe of Prince George; Ferdinand of Seattle, Washington; Bill of Bellingham; Neil of Prince George; six daughters: Mary (Mrs. John Rempel) of Arnold, B.C.; Helen (Mrs. Rolly Giesbrecht) of Vancouver; Agatha of Vancouver; Kathy of Vancouver; Elsie (Mrs. Art Willms) of South Dakota; and Lydia of Yarrow, B.C.
