GERHARD K. TOEWS

Gerhard K. Toews, retired stockman and farmer, died early Friday morning, May 17, at the home of a son Abe in Hutchinson, Kan. after a short illness.

Mr. Toews was brought to this county when an infant from Russia by his parents. The family settled on a farm 1 ½ miles west of Inman. Mr. Toews moved to Hutchinson in 1934.

He was born, April 6, 1875. Mr. Toews was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are two other sons, George, 1625 North Hendricks, Hutchinson, and Jake, Venezuela, South America; five daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Stoesz, Butterfield, Minn., Mrs. Mary Jones, Waverly, Ohio, Mrs. Hellen Lovelock, Hutchinson, Mrs. Ruth Owens, Minneapolis, Minn., and Susanne Toews, Bethesda, Md.; 20 grandchildren and14great-grandchildren.

His wife Elizabeth died in 1944.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Assembly of God church in Hutchinson, Rev. J. L. Boulware and Rev. D. C. Pauls officiating. Burial was made in the Zoar Cemetery near Inman.
